Arizona - But It's a Dry Heat!

Here's another view of this funny building. It looks like US Bank of Toonland.

I took this one during Super Bowl week. These guys were busy "typing" messages in the sky. And what better canvas than a sky with no clouds.

I took this picture last week. What I like about this is that the area where I was had no clouds and the sun was shining through, however everywhere around me was cloudy and if you look past the chain link fence it was actually raining very hard in some areas. Well I know it was raining hard because I was headed that way. Ten minutes after I got on the freeway it got dark and it rained on me all the way home. I love the rain but right now I hate it because my car is missing the rear window.

When we went to Tucson we took "Ducky" with us. In this picture "Ducky" and Diego are enjoying the heavily motif-ed "Cars" room. Trust me, in this room everything is "Cars" related.

This should be every cities goal. To try and make the city and or neighborhoods clean and nice. I was really ipresed at some of the areas in Tucson. My wife still didn't like it, but I always see outside the square if you know what I mean. Tucson is actually a very nice city.

This is one of the nicest parking lot buildings I've seen in a while. It was clean, colorful and just looked nice tucked in the middle of all the buildings.

This picture came out pretty nice. I really like the way the palm tree steals the show.

About the Fox

The Fox Tucson Theatre, Tucson's only movie palace, saw its heyday between 1930 and 1945. For 44 years the theatre showed films primarily, but also offered occasional live entertainment until it closed in 1974. The Fox Tucson Theatre is one of a dwindling number of historic theatres still in existence in the United States and is the finest example of its kind in Arizona. In light of this exceptional status, is has been designated as a Nationally significant building on the National Register of Historic Places. After sitting vacant for over 30 years, the Fox was purchased by the non-profit Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation in Spring 2000 for the citizens of Tucson and Pima County. Following a 6-year, $13 million rehabilitation and restoration, the Fox reopened on December 31st, 2005

This is the DeWalt/R+L NASCAR Ford Focus. Pretty car in person. Check it out during the NASCAR season. It's number 17 driven by Matt Kenseth.

OK, last picture of this building. It's just that it is rare to see such a tall building without windows. Window washers can go unemployed with building like this.

I love taking pictures of buildings. I like to see the different styles in architecture. While in Tucson I was able to take a few pictures and this is one of them. Downtown Tucson is a pretty nice place to visit except it's kindda empty during the weekends. It seems to me it's a weekday kindda place.

You will find this sculpture outside the library building in Tucson. Modern art or ugly red thing? You decide, remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Every so often I post a picture taken by my daughter Michelle who has a totally different picture taking style. This from our trip to the snow at the beginning of January.

Look grandpa tow-matter. It's a real life size tow-matter, let's stop and take a picture. My grandkids think that "Cars" is the best movie ever made.

And right accross the street from that beautiful old building you'll see this. This building's architecture looks like something that came out of toon-town in Disneyland or something like that.
