Arizona - But It's a Dry Heat!

OK, so I dug a little deeper and I found a couple more pics from the Phoenix Art Museum, and since Wanda is having a ball in this virtual tour these additional images are for her. That doesn't mean you all can't enjoy them too.

Now this is one that I did like a lot. I liked the painting, I liked that it was a water feature and that it featured a reflexion as well. It was huge and I think it would look awesome on my wall.

Take a bunch of wooden crates, stuff them with a bunch of woodedn pieces, spray the whole thing in gold and presto we have art. As you can see I am still in the museum but I'm on my way out.

This is a wood 'n' wire horse. For today we shall also call this art.

This one looks small in the picture but it's actually a pretty big piece. Very colorful and very weird. We all had different opinions of what it was.

And this is art. Could this be called "Praying"?

Unfortunately I could not catch the name of this tower but when I do I'll let you know what the name is. In the meantime just enjoy it's beauty.

Ok here it is:

The Viad Tower is a highrise in Midtown Phoenix, Arizona also known as the Viad Corporate Center and formerly the Dial Tower. The tower was constructed in 1991 for the Dial company, which is why the building resembles a Dial soap bar. It rises 374 feet (114 meters), topping out at 24 floors.

It was designed in the modern style by HKS, Inc. Originally, the tower was supposed to have a twin, rotated 90 degrees from the current tower, but due to the Savings and Loan Crisis of the 1980's and 90's, the tower was dropped. Today, the Viad Tower stands as one of Phoenix's most prominent skyscrapers. It is located across the street from the Phoenix Art Museum on Central Avenue just north of McDowell Road between Downtown Phoenix and Midtown Phoenix. The building features a large landscaped public park with many statues and fountains near the entrance. Completed in 1991, the Viad Tower was the last major skyscraper to be constructed in Midtown.

From the Phoenix Art Museum entrance looking out Central Avenue through an awesome fountain. By this time you know I have a fascination of fountains.

This is where my daughter had her Portfolio Review, it was packed and we had a good time in there, so much to see. I kept thinking most of what you see in there I can do. How do I get my junk in a museum? I must find out.

In order to add two freeway lanes they had to re-enforce the bridge to support all the additional weight it will carry. It's been a long, long process but when they finish it's going to look so nice. I like the design on the wall.

I took this one last night. Yes, the sun was completely hidden and yet there was still it's reflection in the sky, the blueish effect it gave this image is pretty cool. But then again, I always say that.

I don't know what this is called but it looks pretty nice sticking out by the wall. Those flowers look like something that might contribute to my allergies.

I posted the bottom image last week. I took it during Memorial Weekend. Today I noticed the sunset was very beautiful again so I captured the top image. Today we had a cloudy sky and rippled water, as opposed to clear sky and calm water on the previous one. That's how the scenery changes and that's why sunsets are never boring.
